September 8-9, 2011--Barron, Newburger & Sinsley, PLLC had an active presence at the State Bar of Texas Advanced Consumer Bankruptcy Conference in Houston, Texas.    Stephen Sather  was Course Director and spoke on "Individual 11s vs. 13s.".   Mark Aschermann and Ed Walton  spoke on "Recognizing Non-Bankruptcy Causes of Action." 



August 11, 2011--The Fifth Circuit sitting en banc released its opinion in Reed v. City of Arlington, Case No. 08-11098.  Barron, Newburger & Sinsley, PLLC represented the Commercial Law League of America as amicus curiae.   You can read more about the opinion here.   The en banc court voted 13-3 to reverse a panel decision which was unfavorable to creditors.

July 12, 2011--Stephen Sather was featured on a panel on "Stern v. Marshall:  State Law Claims in Bankruptcy After the Supremes Make It All Clear," a webinar sponsored by the State Bar of Texas.




May 23, 2011--Stephen Sather argued before the en banc Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in Reed v. City of Arlington.  Barron, Newburger & Sinsley, PLLC represented the Commercial Law League of America as amicus curiae.
